We’re looking for a talented and passionate Chef to join the TRP culinary team and help energise our backstage food offer during an exciting time for our programme.

Working closely with our Lead Cook, you’ll prepare fresh, tasty hot and cold dishes for performers, staff and guests — all while delivering friendly, top-tier service. You’ll champion creativity in the kitchen, contribute to menu ideas, and take pride in creating food that fuels our theatre family all whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

TRP is a vibrant, fast-paced and welcoming hospitality environment with big ambition and an evolving food offer — and you’ll play a key part in shaping it.  We want someone who’s ready to help us raise the curtain on the next act of our culinary story!

This is a permanent role working 30 hours per week, across five 6-hour shifts, with the possibility of overtime for holiday/sickness cover. You’ll need full availability over the Christmas and New Year period.

Shifts may vary between 9am–9pm and will be confirmed via rota. Some work may also take place at TR2,our Production & Learning Centre at Cattedown.

Roles and Responsibilities

You will:

  • Prepare, cook and serve delicious dishes for cast, creatives and staff

  • Run a smooth and welcoming Green Room service

  • Step up to support the Lead Chef during annual leave

  • Help design menus for events and visiting companies

  • Keep kitchen and storage areas clean, organised and sparkling

  • Support with washing up and deep-cleaning duties

  • Store, portion and rotate ingredients to maintain quality

  • Champion hygiene and food safety (HACCP & COSHH)

  • Receive and manage deliveries, safe storage and stock rotation

  • Uphold high standards of presentation and consistency, upholding the quality of the brand

  • Serve staff and and cast in the Green Room with warmth and professionalism

  • Use our EPOS system accurately
